Setting Menu: Customize Layout

The settings menu of Samsung's TouchWiz user interface was truly cleaned with the S5 and now looks different than before. Who does not find themselves in dogs or the round icons just do not like, you can change the look by simply tapping on the three-point button at the top right.

Off S Voice

S Voice, the voice control of the Galaxy S5 is enabled by default and can be reached through double-tap on the Home button. This has, among other things means that it always takes a while until you come back to the Home screen when you pressed the home button once - the S5 is "waiting" on a second click. People not using S Voice regularly, but the feature can disable this path: Settings -> Applications -> S Voice and then uncheck About Home button remove open.

My Magazine is Samsung's own news reader, summarizing the news from social networks and news sources. It can be reached from the home screen via a wiper to the right.

Quick access to important functions

The Toolbox is a really useful feature for quick access to important and frequently used functions. There you can store up to five shortcuts. If the Toolbox is enabled, you will find the top right of the screen is always a semi-transparent gray button. A tip on it opens the Toolbox. Set up and activated you can it in this way: Settings -> Sound and Display -> toolbox.

Operating the S5 with a pencil

Actually, a great feature, but Samsung has nowhere really mentioned: The S5 can also be operated with a conventional pencil, like for example the Xperia Z Ultra. For this, you'll just have the touch sensitivity of the screen increase (glove mode). Is this in the settings for sound and display, then select display and scroll to the bottom to the point touch sensitivity is high. Then you can modify in any text input field to input type, by your on the second button from the left taps on the bottom row long and the T symbol selects. One-hand operation

The display of the S5 is quite large, especially for smaller hands, but there is a mode for one-hand operation. For this you have to just wipe quickly from one side of the home screen with your finger to the center and back out again. The screen is then displayed smaller on the side, have done from which your wiping gesture. You can activate the mode under Settings -> Sound and Display -> One-handed operation.

Hide Unwanted Apps

On Samsung's smartphones, there are not only useful apps, much so-called bloatware is to be found in the App Drawer - apps from Samsung partners that are entirely unnecessary for many. You can easily hide the happiness by you open the App Drawer, and then goes beyond the three-point button to the menu these apps. From here you can uninstall your apps directly, but system apps that can not be deleted, can be easily hidden from there. And as they say: Out of sight, out of mind.

Hide photos: private mode

Sometimes you take with your smartphone to situations that are not intended for everyone's eyes. In the private mode can hide your content. Enable this via the quick settings to private mode and selects a four-digit PIN. Alternatively, you can also it via Settings - achieve> Private mode -> Personalization. Are you in the mode that you can select individual images and move them to the private folder, for example in the gallery. If you then leave again the private browsing mode, these images are invisible.

The Virtual Tour of the S5 is a kind of Google Street View to make your own. In the shooting modes of the camera you will find the option Virtual Tour. If it is activated, you can watch the camera move through space, rotate, and take pictures, much as do the Street View cars. Then you can move through the recorded scene, as if walking on a small tour of the room. The number of shots is limited.

Some of my iPhone friends use this feature, and I personally find it quite annoying, but maybe you like it so, to use the flash as a notification light. Is this the Einstellungsmneü and then Personalization -> Prediction -> Hearing Impaired There you will find the flash point notification..

Use pre-set modules for News
